I selected a $270.00 Magellan Roadmate GPS for Christmas from Fingerhut and after about 1 week osf use the unit froze up and I was told to call Magellan. They wanted me to pay $25.00 to have the unit sent back to them, and they would send me a remanufactured unit. I paid for a new unoit and I refused a rebuilt one. I called Fingerhut and they said it would take 6 weeks to complete the exchange, however I have yet to receive the return label they said they ,mailed on January 11. I am payinhg for a GPS that is no good and will not work. When it did work I lo ved it and I need a GPS for trips I take when I drive my mother to another city where she is being treated for cancer. Fingerhut wants their money on or beforee the date due, but they do not care about me having a peice of junk that I am paying $270.00 for. I cannot beleive Magellan wanting me to accept a rebuilt GPS receiver when I paid for a new one. If I wanted a rebuilt unit I could have went to Big Lots and saved well over $100.00. I no longer want a exchange from Fingerhut, I can go to a local store and pay $50.00 less for the same thing. I now want my account credited and I will owe them nothing. I only used Fingerhut because my mother wanted to get me a gift and she was unable to go shopping, and I told her she can pay $40.-$50.00 on this and I would pay the balance. I was ripped off.
